HISTORY
Riley-Spence
and Associates Inc. was formed in 1978 by Thomas H. Spence
and Charles J. Riley.
Their
first project was with a non-for-profit group to design,
construct and manage Marymount Manor, a 120 bed skilled
nursing facility, in Eureka, MO.
In
1979, Riley-Spence developed a 50 unit RCF on the
same campus in Eureka.
In
1985, Riley-Spence leased the nursing home for 30
years, designed and built 60 additional SNF beds to Marymount
Manor.
In
1986, Riley-Spence bought a 45,000 sq. foot school
building in Bridgeton and spent 2 million dollars remodeling
Carrollton Manor into a 140 bed Residential Care Facility.
In
1986, Riley-Spence built Woodland Manor, a 120 bed
SNF, with 28 independent condominiums on the same 25 acre
campus in Jefferson County, just 12 miles from the City
of St. Louis.
In
1997, Riley-Spence built a 20 Bed luxury suite addition
to Woodland Manor, all are private pay residents.
In
1997, Riley-Spence started Alternative Home Nursing
agency, which currently provides services for 75 patients.
In
Nov. of 1999, Riley-Spence purchased Forest Haven
Center, a 120 bed SNF. It has been renamed The Woodlands
of Maryland Heights, located in Northwest St. Louis County.
It is in the process of being remodeled and upgraded for
better services.
In
2003, Carrollton Manor was bought out for the
expansion of St. Louis International Airport.
